The Michigan Gas Utilities (MGU) team is grateful to the Allegan County community for its incredible support throughout the recent natural gas restoration process. We appreciate every wave, kind word and delicious meals offered to our crews — thank you! We also thank WEC Energy Group’s crews from We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service in Wisconsin, Minnesota Energy Resources in Minnesota, and Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas in Illinois, along with Consumers Energy, for dedicating time away from their families to assist us.

A portion of the MGU service area lost natural gas service on April 9 when the natural gas transmission pipeline that serves MGU was damaged. Service was restored to the MGU pipeline April 11.

More than 200 utility workers from across the Midwest worked around the clock on the multiphase restoration effort.

Through it all, people across the community offered their support, including food drop-offs and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Fennville Fire Department.

Grand Rapids television news WZZM-TV highlighted the support from the community.
