Michigan Gas Utilities (MGU) employees are adding to their support for their communities thanks to an impressive year of working safely. MGU employees are directing $2,500 donations to local chapters of Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement.
The donations are part of the MGU Safety Charity Challenge, a companywide program to encourage employees to live and work safely while positively impacting their local communities. Employees have the opportunity to direct a contribution toward one of several charities at the end of each quarter when safety goals are met.
This winter, MGU employees were able to make two $2,500 donations. One donation recognized employees for achieving fourth-quarter safety goals, while the other was in honor of employees meeting their safety goals for the full year in 2025.
In total, MGU employees directed $12,500 toward charitable organizations through the Safety Charity Challenge last year.

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County and Harbor Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity’s Monroe County and Harbor chapters are nonprofit organizations that strive to provide access to safe, affordable housing for people in need. Each organization helps build homes in partnership with deserving individuals and families, provides improvements to help older adults and military veterans, and operates programs to increase home ownership and strengthen neighborhoods in southern Michigan.

Junior Achievement of Southwest Michigan
Junior Achievement of Southwest Michigan is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving children and teenagers the education and skills they need to achieve academic and economic success. The organization provides lessons to students, both in the classroom and through specialized programming on financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship.
Both Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement are among the dozens of nonprofit organizations MGU is proud to support every year.
